zendone featured in the 2nd edition of ‘Evernote: The unofficial guide to capturing everything and getting things done’

Dec 04, 2011

We are very excited to know that Daniel Gold included a section about zendone in the second edition of its excellent guide to Evernote and GTD.

Evernote: The unofficial guide to Evernote and GTD

We have been in contact with Daniel for some time. He is an expert in GTD and Evernote, so we share a lot of common interests. In his book you will find a detailed guide about how you can implement your GTD system using Evernote. It also includes a lot of good tips about GTD and productivity in general.

Daniel proposes a GTD approach 100% based in Evernote. While this is a little bit different of what zendone proposes, we share a lot of things in our vision of how a GTD system should be, specially regarding simplicity. We feel incredibly honored for being the only GTD app described in his book.

By the way, we don’t have any commercial relationship with Daniel, nor receive any compensation from his book.

Thanks a lot Daniel!

Awesome job by both. I had just completed moving everything off of RTM over to Evernote when I started using ZenDone. The movement is almost seamless since its built off of a tag specific system. At first I thought of just using Evernote alone, but after getting all 109 tasks into ZD, then breaking them up into projects, then integrating into GCal, I realized that I’d just be hurting myself. I think what people don’t understand until they use ZD is that there is no Risk to starting a system. If you change your mind (not sure anyone would with how gorgeous ZD is to work with) you can just go back to your Evernote system alone. No worries at all. Stress free productivity, that’s what its all about.

What I also like about ZenDone, since we’re on the subject (and blog), I love the way I can just go through my Review and pick out two tasks that need Action, and focus on them alone, which is in-line with how Tim Ferriss describes his hybrid system on his blog and in subsequent interviews. Its so much easier to focus on just a few things and get them done than stare down a daunting laundry list. Keeping with the Evernote motif; how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time…

Thanks again for all the hard work y’all!

Congratulations on all the great things you are doing. I am a long time GTD user and have heard wonderful things from people I know who are in the beta test.

Funny thing…I first learned about Zendone while reading Daniel’s book on Evernote! You can sense his excitement with using Zendone which I’m sure encouraged many of us who feel Evernote is great for some things but not necessary GTD.

I completely love Zendone, having used it less than a week. I cannot wait for the iPhone/iPad application which will make my journey to Evernote/Google Calendar GTD system a reality.

    Many thanks Plaindrops Friends!

Just a quick note for Mac users who would like to try Zendone without using it in a Safari window. Download and install Fluid: http://fluidapp.com/

Fluid allows me the flexibility of using Zendone with all the other Mac apps on one screen, at the same time.

    Thank you Jorge!

Your app is amazing! The Evernote and Google Calendar integrations work very well.

For now I miss the following: - Android app - Someday / maybe list at zendone - Offline access - Better integration zendone – Evernote

If I have something to post or comment in the future I will do it at Get Satisfaction.

    Saludos

  54. May 14Technobob says:

I came across zendone a few months ago and registered my email address for possible beta programme inclusion. Whilst waiting I trialled the IQTELL productivity system, which also incorporates Evernote, but found it too “busy” for my liking. My current workflow – GCal and GTasks – is a bit “simplistic”, whereas zendone looks like it would fit beautifully in-between, “the Goldilocks productivity tool for Getting Things Done” :)

  55. May 15Pablo (zendone) says:

Hi Technobob, Thanks for your kind words I’ve just sent you an invitation. We hope you enjoy zendone Welcome to zendone :)

  56. May 16Eric says:

    hi ZenDone!

just got the invite and trying ZenDone out now. i’ve been an evernote and gtd fanatic for sometime now. I ascribe to Leo Babauta of ZenHabits’ use of three notes (which I have perpetually placed in evernote): Most Important Tasks, TODAY, and a TICKLER file. So my workflow is heavily manual right now.

i’m still trying to see if this could “automate” my workflow. but my initial thoughts are: beautiful ui, good thought process, user friendly.

i would love an offline standalone app for this though. is that in the works now? i would look forward to that!

    good job so far!

  57. May 16Eric says:

Sorry, scratch my question about offline access. I just read your reply Jose now.
